What Woofread collects, why, who helps us, how long we keep it, and your choices.
This policy explains what we collect when you use woofread.com, why, who helps us process it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do. Woofread is operated by Steamwise Ventures LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company, USA. Questions: support@woofread.com.
What we collect
- About your dog: name, quiz answers (age, breed, habits, the moments that are tricky, safety answers) and any notes you write.
- About you: your email address and, if you give it, your first name. If you join, Whop gives us your name, email, country and the card’s last four digits and brand. We never see your full card number.
- Your uploads: the photos and videos you upload, and the readings, thumbnails and key frames we make from them. Photos and videos can contain hidden data such as location; we don’t use it.
- Chat messages: what you write in the chat and the answers, once the chat is available.
- Proof of your consent: when you agree to the membership or the upload terms, we save the time, your IP address and the exact text you saw at the button you tapped.
- Technical data: a session cookie, which version of the site you saw, and the steps you take in our funnel (for example “quiz started”), tied to an anonymous ID. We do not record your screen.
- Support emails: what you write to us and our answers.
We don’t ask for sensitive information about you. Please don’t put it in notes or chat messages.
Why we use it
- To make your readings, your plan and the chat answers, and to show them to you.
- To run your membership: payments, receipts, reminders, cancellations and refunds.
- To send service emails (confirmations, receipts, reminders, “your plan is ready”). These come regardless of marketing choices because they are part of the service.
- To send marketing emails, only if you said yes. Every marketing email has a one-click unsubscribe.
- To answer support questions, prevent fraud and misuse, and handle disputes.
- To see which pages work, using counts of anonymous steps.
- To follow the law, for example tax and record-keeping rules.
Automated analysis
Readings are made automatically by software that includes an AI model. Nobody on our team looks at your photos or videos, unless you ask us to (for example in a support question), to handle a complaint or dispute, or to check a report of misuse. We don’t use your photos or videos to train AI models and we don’t use them in ads, unless you give separate, explicit permission.
Who helps us
We don’t sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that run Woofread for us, each under a contract that limits them to working for us:
- Supabase: our database and private file storage (account, dog profile, quiz answers, uploads, readings).
- Vercel: hosting for the website and its server functions.
- Resend: sends our emails.
- Whop: checkout, payments, refunds and membership billing.
- Google (Gemini): the AI model that analyzes your uploads and answers, and powers the chat. We use its paid service, whose terms say it does not use our customers’ content to train its models.
- Meta (Facebook/Instagram): measures whether our ads work, through the Meta pixel and Conversions API (page visits, sign-ups and purchases, with your email in hashed form). Never your photos, videos, quiz answers or chat messages.
We may also share information when the law requires it, to protect someone’s safety, or if the business is sold (the buyer would be bound by this policy). Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries, including the European Union.
Cookies
We use two of our own cookies: one keeps your session (so your quiz and readings stay yours), one remembers which version of the site you saw, so prices and pages stay the same for you. When you arrive from one of our ads, the Meta pixel also sets cookies to measure that ad. You can block them in your browser settings; the site keeps working.
How long we keep it
- Raw photos and videos (and playable copies): deleted 7 days after processing.
- Readings, thumbnails, key frames, plan progress and chat history: as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete them within 30 days.
- Quiz answers and email of people who never joined: up to 24 months after the last activity, or sooner if you ask.
- Proof of consent: at least 3 years, or 1 year after your membership ends if that is later.
- Payment and order records: as long as tax and accounting law requires, usually up to 7 years.
- Support emails: 2 years after the question is closed.
- Anonymous funnel events: up to 24 months.
Information involved in an open dispute or legal claim can be kept until it is resolved.
Your rights and choices
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- show you what we hold about you and your dog, and give you a copy;
- correct it;
- delete it, including your uploads, readings and account (we keep only what the law makes us keep);
- stop marketing emails (or click unsubscribe in any of them).
Email support@woofread.com from the address you use with Woofread. We confirm it’s you through that email address and answer within 30 days. If we can’t do what you ask, we explain why, and you can reply to appeal; we answer an appeal within 45 days. We won’t treat you differently for using your rights.
For California residents
In the last 12 months we collected these categories: identifiers (email, name, IP address), commercial information (orders and membership), internet activity (funnel steps), user content (your photos, videos, answers and messages) and, if a photo or video shows people, images of them. We use them for the purposes above. We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for targeted advertising, except that Meta’s ad measurement may count as “sharing” under California law. You can opt out by emailing us with “Do not share” or by blocking cookies; we honor Global Privacy Control signals. You have the rights listed above, including to know, delete and correct. You may use an authorized agent.
Children
Woofread is for adults 18 and older. We don’t knowingly collect information from children. Please don’t upload photos or videos in which children can be recognized. If you think a child gave us information, email us and we’ll delete it.
Security
Uploads sit in private storage and are only shown through short-lived links. Data travels over HTTPS. Only the people who run Woofread can access our systems. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we tell you as the law requires.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we update the date at the top and email members before the change applies.
